High volumes.
Total control.
Mining operations consume fuel at a scale that makes fraud catastrophic. Vetrol gives site managers centralised, real-time control over every piece of equipment β across every site, every shift, every day.
Why mining operations are high-risk without Vetrol
Remote sites create the perfect conditions for unchecked fuel loss.
Mining operations are particularly vulnerable to fuel fraud because of where they operate and how they're staffed. Machinery is spread across vast sites. Fueling happens around the clock across multiple shifts. Supervision is thin, and the sheer volume consumed makes individual incidents hard to detect until the numbers don't add up at month-end.
Rotating Crews, Zero Continuity
Shift changes mean different personnel handle fueling each time. No single person has the full picture, and accountability is diffuse.
High Volumes Mask Theft
When an excavator consumes 400 litres a day legitimately, an extra 50 litres is invisible in the noise without vehicle-level tracking.
Remote Location Oversight Gap
Fuel delivery points on remote sites operate with minimal supervision. Siphoning, over-reporting, and ghost deliveries are all common.
Multi-Equipment Complexity
Tracking fuel across dozens of different machine types β excavators, haul trucks, generators, support vehicles β is operationally overwhelming without automation.
Every machine tagged. Every fill tracked. Every anomaly flagged.
Vetrol assigns a unique vehicle tag identity to every piece of equipment. At the site refueling point, the attendant scans the vetrol vehicle tag using the Vetrol POS device before fueling proceeds. Rules are configured per equipment type β an excavator gets a different daily cap than a support vehicle.
If a fill exceeds the configured limit for that equipment, the POS device blocks it immediately. If fueling is attempted outside designated site hours, it's blocked. Every event β approved or denied β is logged and visible to the site manager in real time.
Managers running multiple sites get a consolidated view across all locations from a single dashboard. Anomalies are surfaced automatically β not discovered weeks later when reconciling invoices.
Equipment-Level Configuration Example
Designed for the scale and complexity of mining operations.
Equipment-Level Vehicle Tag Identity
Every machine β from excavators to generators β gets its own encrypted Vehicle Tag. Fuel is tracked per unit, not per site.
High-Volume Limit Configuration
Configure daily and per-fill caps appropriate for heavy machinery. Blocks over-fueling without disrupting legitimate operations.
Multi-Site Centralised Dashboard
View all sites and all equipment from a single dashboard. Compare consumption across sites, spot anomalies, and drill down per machine.
Shift-Based Access Controls
Fuel access is locked to designated shift hours. Off-shift fueling attempts are blocked and logged automatically.
Real-Time Anomaly Alerts
Unusual patterns β repeated denials, consumption spikes, attempts outside site hours β are flagged immediately, not at month-end.
Immutable Audit Records
Every fueling event is permanently logged and tamper-proof. Full audit trail available for compliance reviews, insurance claims, or disputes.
A remote site refueling event, with Vetrol.
This is how a single fueling event flows from the machine to the site manager's dashboard β without any manual intervention, paper records, or phone calls.
Machine arrives at the site refueling point
The Vehicle Tag is fitted to the equipment. The attendant is at the Vetrol POS device.
Attendant scans the equipment Vehicle Tag
The POS device checks: is this machine authorised at this site? Is it within its daily cap? Is it within shift hours?
Fueling proceeds or is blocked
If all checks pass, the attendant fuels. If any check fails β wrong site, cap exceeded, outside hours β the device blocks it and logs the attempt.
Site manager sees the event instantly
The transaction is live in the dashboard. Volume, equipment, time, and attendant are all recorded automatically.
Weekly site report generated automatically
Total consumption by equipment, by site, and by shift β all calculated from live data. No manual tallying.
