General
What is Vetrol?
Vetrol is a next-generation fuel management platform that helps businesses eliminate fuel fraud, reduce operational waste, and gain full visibility over every liter consumed. It works by assigning encrypted smart tag identities to vehicles, enforcing transaction rules in real time, and settling fuel payments instantly — replacing manual tracking with a secure, transparent infrastructure.
Who is Vetrol for?
Vetrol is built for any business that operates a fleet of vehicles — from logistics companies and transport operators to construction firms, government agencies, and corporate fleets. We also work with fuel station networks that want to offer their business clients a structured, accountable fueling experience.
What problems does Vetrol solve?
Vetrol addresses the core fuel management challenges faced by businesses: unauthorized fueling, ghost transactions, over-consumption, manual reconciliation errors, and lack of real-time visibility. By automating authorization and settlement, we remove the human weaknesses that create leakage in traditional fuel management.
Is Vetrol a fuel card?
No. Traditional fuel cards are tied to drivers, making them easy to misuse. Vetrol is tied to the vehicle — using smart technology embedded in or on the vehicle itself. This means no card to share, transfer, or fake. The vehicle identity is cryptographically secured and non-transferable.
Platform & Technology
How does smart tag vehicle authorization work?
Each vehicle enrolled in Vetrol is issued an encrypted smart tag. When a driver initiates fueling at a Vetrol-enabled station, the pump reads the vehicle's smart identity and sends an authorization request to our platform. In milliseconds, Vetrol checks if the vehicle is approved to fuel at that station, within the current limits, and at the current time. If all conditions are met, fueling is authorized — otherwise it's blocked.
What kind of rules can I set per vehicle?
You can configure rules such as: daily or weekly volume limits per vehicle, approved station whitelists, allowed fueling time windows, fuel type restrictions (petrol vs. diesel), geographic restrictions, and maximum spend per transaction. These rules are enforced automatically and in real time — no manual oversight required.
What happens if a vehicle tries to exceed its limit?
The transaction is automatically declined at the pump. The driver receives a clear notification, and fleet managers see the blocked attempt in real time on their dashboard. Managers can then review and optionally grant a one-time override if the limit needs to be adjusted temporarily.
How is real-time settlement handled?
When a fueling transaction is completed, Vetrol immediately records the volume, price, vehicle, station, and timestamp. The corresponding payment is settled between the business and the station in real time — no end-of-month invoices, no disputes over quantities. Both parties see the same immutable record simultaneously.
Security & Trust
Can the smart tag be cloned or tampered with?
Vetrol uses cryptographically secured smart tags with mutual authentication. Each tag challenge-response cycle is unique and time-bound, making cloning attacks computationally infeasible. Physical tampering is also addressed through tamper-evident installation methods that invalidate the tag if removal is detected.
Where is my data stored and who can access it?
Your data is stored in encrypted, access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Only your authorized administrators can access your organization's fleet data, transaction records, and reports. Vetrol employees cannot access individual transaction data without explicit permission granted by your organization.
What happens if connectivity is lost at the pump?
Vetrol supports configurable offline-mode behavior per station. You can choose to allow pre-authorized vehicles to fuel within a conservative offline limit (e.g., a capped volume), or to block all fueling until connectivity is restored. All offline transactions are reconciled automatically once the connection returns.
Getting Started
How long does onboarding take?
For most businesses, the onboarding process takes 5–10 business days. This includes vehicle enrollment, smart tag provisioning, station configuration, and team training. Our onboarding team handles the heavy lifting — you'll be live and fueling securely before your next billing cycle.
Do my fuel stations need special hardware?
Vetrol works with a lightweight smart tag reader device that connects to existing pump infrastructure. For stations already running POS systems, integration is straightforward. Our team assesses each station during onboarding and provides the appropriate hardware and configuration — no major overhaul required.
How is Vetrol priced?
Vetrol is priced based on your fleet size and transaction volume. We offer flexible plans designed for small fleets, mid-size operations, and enterprise networks. Pricing is transparent — no hidden fees on settlement. Contact us for a customized quote based on your specific needs.
Can I try Vetrol before committing?
Yes. We offer a pilot program for qualified businesses — typically a 30-day live trial with a subset of your fleet. This lets you see real results with your real operations before a full rollout. Book a demo to discuss a pilot for your business.
Still have questions?
Our team is happy to answer any question — no matter how detailed. We'd rather over-explain than leave you guessing.
